Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the Senior Accountant, the Assistant Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the finance department in various accounting and financial tasks. This position offers an excellent opportunity for career growth and development in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Process invoices and expense forms, verifying accuracy and compliance with policies.
- Reconcile bank statements and maintain general ledger accounts.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and assist in audits.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Handle payroll administration and ensure timely payments.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Maintain financial documents and records in an organized manner.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience as an Assistant Accountant or in a similar role.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and procedures.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience in the UAE or GCC region is preferred.
- Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is a plus.
