Description:
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the receipt, storage, and dispatch of cargo shipments, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Prepare and verify shipping documentation, including bills of lading, airway bills, and customs declarations.
- Manage cargo bookings, schedule pickups and deliveries, and track shipments to ensure on-time arrival.
- Communicate with customers, airlines, and freight forwarders to arrange transportation and resolve any issues.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for damage, ensuring all cargo is handled safely and securely.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory, and related documentation in the cargo management system.
- Handle customer inquiries and provide updates on shipment status, addressing any concerns or special requests.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure efficient loading and unloading of cargo.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, security, and regulatory requirements for cargo handling.
- Assist in the preparation of reports on cargo operations, inventory levels, and performance metrics.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in cargo handling, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in using cargo management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in logistics or supply chain management are a plus.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
